Call in to the team at Dave’s Garage for all your servicing and repairs.
Before you remove your DPF, delete it, or spend a fortune replacing sensors, talk to our team of highly trained technicians.
The DPF will usually keep itself clear, going about it’s business completely unnoticed. It is, however, only one part in a bigger more complex system. All the parts in this system must be working in order for the self cleaning process to be successful. Other parts involved include, but are not limited to; the much maligned EGR valve (a complex system in it’s own right) heater plugs, various pressure and temperature sensors, and a plethora of wires and pipes along with other parts not directly related but which can have an affect. Failure in any of these will stop the cleaning process before it starts. There may or may not be fault codes stored other than the one saying the DPF is blocked.
Many companies offering DPF cleaning services will start by pouring flushing chemicals and cleaning solutions into your DPF or by carrying out forced regenerations. This will only treat the symptoms rather than deal with the cause. In fact the first thing to understand is why your DPF is blocked. We take the time carry out full diagnostics to determine the root cause of the problem. Only then will we fix the fault that caused your DPF light to come on in the first place. Repairing these, usually small, faults will often be enough and the vehicle will be go back to self cleaning. If the DPF soot load is above what would be safe to clean on the car, we may need to remove it and send it for professional cleaning.
Our team operate the latest and best diagnostic tools. We not only clean the DPF, but understand the root cause of any underlying the DPF issue causing the blocking.
By repairing your blocked DPF it will extend the life of your diesel particulate filter, engine power and performance will be maintained, and fuel economy and MPG will be also be restored.
In the event that your DPF filter is damaged, either by corrosion or by melting we can also arrange a replacement. So whatever your DPF issue we are here to help.
